Our Gardens are Reflections of Ourselves

I started Stony Hill Farm Greenhouses in 1994 because I couldn't find the weird, rare plants I'd become addicted to. When I could locate ones I didn't have, no one had a clue what they were, or how to care for them.  I offer a wide variety of Splendid Plants with distinctive Foliage, Texture, Variegation, Scent & Flower Power.

 I delight in Designing & Installing Personalized Landscapes.  I take the time to listento your dreams & ideas; magical, extraordinary, mysterious or colorful low-care. I then ‘paint with plants’ to create  a "Custom Fit." Maintenance of gardens is also available.

My plants are tested for hardiness, ease of care& their potential as critter-candyin my extensive zone 4b Display Gardens.  Folks can stroll through the mature trees, shrubs & perennials & get inspired by the unending Innovative Combinations. You can envision specific plants or combos that’ll perk up your private garden.  It's good to know before you install a plant that instead of getting a 1' high bush that blooms all summer {tag information}, it actually gets 3' high,  doesn't bloom at all, & eats it's neighbors…

My Greenhouses overflow with a multitude of rare, variegated & unusual  Flora: Perennials,  Shrub Roses, mini-Geraniums, Begonias, Alpines, Dwarf conifers & trees, Cactus & succulents, Tissue-cultured  plants, Tropicals, Variegated varieties of common plants, etc…

The Garden Shop is a treasure trove of Cast Iron, Solar Art, one-of-a-kind Greeting Cards, Copper Weathervanes, Fairies & Critters, Books, Antiques & Marbles. Endless types of Pots abound - you can make an ordinary plant Extra-ordinary in a great pot, or showcase a rare Treasure in a trough. Come check out my Unique ‘Movable Landscapes’for inspiration. I'll create one for you, which you can personalize with Solar Lights, Marbles,  Miniatures…
Assorted beverages, fruit logs, Almondia cookies, Truffles & snacks are always offered.

Our Primary Concern is to provide you with healthy, Extra-ordinary Plants. I’m committed to sound environmental practices, &strive to stay as pesticide-free as possible.

Stony Hill started out as a way for an avid plant collector to support her habit, & has evolved into another child.  I don’t aspire to be a ’Big Business’ - it’s important to me to personally ensure outstanding creativity & quality.  My "Supervisors" - Zeke, our German Shepherd & 3 cats can't wait to show you around - come visit!
